Sialic Acid as a Biomarker Studied in Breast Cancer Cell Lines In Vitro Using Fluorescent Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

چکیده

Sialylations are post-translational modifications of proteins and lipids that play important roles in many cellular events, including cell-cell interactions, proliferation, migration. Tumor cells express high levels sialic acid (SA), which often associated with the increased invasive potential clinical tumors, correlating poor prognosis. To overcome lack natural SA-receptors, such as antibodies lectins enough specificity sensitivity, we have used molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs), or “plastic antibodies”, nanoprobes. Because expression epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) primary tumors is proliferation a more aggressive phenotype, EpCAM CD44 was initially analyzed. The SA-MIPs were for detection SA on surface breast cancer cells. Lectins specifically bind to a-2,3 a-2,6 variants analysis expression, both flow cytometry confocal microscopy. Here show correlation when using SA. We also demonstrate binding pattern lines Pre-incubation SA-derivatives inhibitors could reduce tumor cells, indicating SA-MIPs. In conclusion, may be new powerful tool diagnostic

Molecularly Imprinted Polymers (MIPs) in Biomedical Applications

Within biological systems, these are usually dynamic and are the result of a mass of noncovalent interactions, which act collectively to form a very stable system. Molecular imprinting is a relatively new and rapidly evolving technique used to create synthetic receptors, having recognition properties comparable to the biological systems and it also possesses great potential in a number of appli...

A Path to Soluble Molecularly Imprinted Polymers

Molecular imprinting is a technique for making a selective binding site for a specific chemical. The technique involves building a polymeric scaffold of molecular complements containing the target molecule. Subsequent removal of the target leaves a cavity with a structural "memory" of the target. Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) can be employed as selective adsorbents of specific molecules...

Are molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) beneficial in detection and determination of mycotoxins in cereal samples?

The process of matrix clean-up and extraction of analytes has a significant influence on the detection and determination of the analyte, especially in trace amounts. Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are solid particles that can absorb specific molecules regarding the template molecule used in the synthesis process of each type of MIP. As a result, they can be used in more effective and mor...
